Our law firm in Istanbul provides legal consultancy to its clients in all cases and disputes related to IT law.

Currently, our IT department’s case-load mainly concerns building legal infrastructure for the newly established companies and start-up initiatives operating in informatics and technology related sectors. But in more specific terms, our services in this field include applying for grants and funds for start-ups and companies; drafting e-commerce contracts; protecting their interests rooting from IP law; ensuring that the regulations are complied with in the scope of Internet law.

As for our individual clients, we frequently provide legal consultancy to our clients in matters ranging from cyber-bullying; sextortion; blackmail via social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; extortion, libel or slander via the Internet; and IT crimes. For instance, we may start legal proceedings and demand both pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages from those violating personal rights; or we may simply apply to competent authorities to block access a particular web site or make necessary applications to have our clients’ right to be forgotten respected.

In matters where IT law coincide with criminal law, we frequently provide legal consultancy to start-ups, companies and private individuals concerning certain offences including:

  • IT crimes including cyber bullying, sextortion, online blackmail, and stalking (Turkish Penal Code Arts.107/2, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 138, 158/1(f), 243, 244, 245/A),

  • Wire fraud (“preventing the functioning of a system and deletion, alteration or corrupting of data”; “misuse of bank or credit cards”, Turkish Penal Code Arts.244 and 245), and
